How to Find the Right Licensed Massage Therapist

We live in a time when we’re constantly on the go, dealing with multiple things at once and are always connected to the world, no matter where we go. This all leads to higher stress levels that cause tension. We feel this most in the tight muscles of our neck and back areas, though it can manifest itself anywhere. While finding a massage therapist to help you unwind and care for your muscles is easy, finding the right licensed massage therapist requires a little more effort.

What to Look For

There are “massage therapists” popping up all over, but just like any other business that’s been flooded with new businesses, not all of them are reputable or effective. And because we’re dealing with the human body and pain points, they can potentially do more harm than good. Here are the things to consider when looking for the right licensed massage therapist in the Atlanta area.

Experience

With so many practices popping up everywhere, it’s important you look for an experienced therapist. It’s perfectly valid to call and ask how many years they’ve been in the industry. If you call and somebody is unwilling to answer or has very little experience, it’s advisable to move on. At ATL Bodyworks, I’m proud to have been practicing for over 10 years, and I am always expanding my breadth of knowledge.

Different Modalities

Each person is different and requires a different focus. Because what you need may be very different than the person before you, it’s a good idea to visit someone who has diverse experience so they can combine modalities or just focus on the one best suited to your individual needs. If you need stress relief, specific bodywork, pain relief, or general balance, your massage therapist should have the breadth of knowledge to match your needs.

I have dedicated myself to constantly learning and honing my craft. I find the more techniques I learn, the better able I am to confidently address any issues my clients have. I am certified by the ABMP Massage Association and in these disciplines:

  • Neuromuscular massage
  • Reflexology
  • Swedish massage
  • Lomi Lomi
  • Deep tissue massage
  • Pranic healing
  • Seated or chair massage
  • Spa therapies
  • Thai Yoga

Testimonials and Referrals

If you’re on a massage therapist’s website and they don’t include what their clients are saying, there’s a good chance they haven’t been in business long enough to build a loyal client base or they’re not getting rave reviews. At ATL Bodyworks, I’m proud to display what my clients are saying. I’m honored to be the massage therapist of choice for people from all walks of life, including celebrities, athletes, stay-at-home dads, and working moms.

I love working with resorts, hotels, and corporate retreats. Offering my holistic and diverse services adds to the satisfaction of their guests and employees.

A Commitment to Restoring Balance

Massage therapy is only one piece of the holistic balance puzzle. That’s why I’m excited to train under an acclaimed Thai yoga practitioner so I can help clients restore the balance between their mind, body, and spirit.

When you’re stressed on the inside, your body will show signs on the outside – it’s inevitable. I offer soothing and nourishing body treatments to exfoliate dead and dull skin cells, revealing brighter, healthier skin. I also offer non-invasive body sculpting to accentuate your curves by reducing belly fat and tightening loose skin. This awakens the part of you that feels sexy and may have become secondary to stress.
